JAZZAZIZ: volume 5 compilation CD
Volume 5 of the JAZZAZIZ compilation CD is now underway!

JAZZAZIZ has been one of JAZZWA’s core projects since 2001 when it was founded by current Project Manager Pete Jeavons and the late, great Alan Corbet (JAZZWA). The project was created as a vehicle to document original contemporary jazz composed and performed by WA jazz musicians and promote that music locally, nationally and internationally to draw attention to the quality and diversity of contemporary jazz music coming out of WA.

JAZZAZIZ is one of JAZZWA’s core projects and there are 2 parts to this project:

PART TWO - Submitting Existing Recordings

If you have existing recordings that you would like to have included on the JAZZAZIZ Volume 5 compilation CD, then you are invited to submit up to 2 tracks for consideration.

To have your track(s) considered for inclusion please note the following criteria:

i) The track(s) must be an original composition by a Western Australian jazz artist

ii) The track(s) must not have been recorded prior to January 1st 2009 (in fact, the more recent the better)

iii) Stylistically speaking, the track(s) must fit into one or more of the following jazz genres: modern jazz, fusion, hard bop, post-bop, free jazz, ‘world’ jazz or nu-jazz (jazz with electronic elements).

TRACK DURATION

Although there is no official limitation on track duration please bear in mind that shorter tracks will have a better chance of being selected purely because we want to try to represent as many different artists/groups as possible.

SOUND QUALITY

In addition to musicality, please be aware that the sound quality of your track is a major contributing factor as to whether it will be selected to feature on the compilation. Submitted tracks must to be mixed to ‘release quality’ but are not required to be mastered (JAZZAZIZ will master all tracks that are to appear on the compilation CD after having made the final selection).
